A Case of Pituitary Enlargement with Excess TSH Secretion and Primary Hypothyroidism

Abstract

|
We report a case of pituitary enlargement with primary hypothyroidism in a 35-year-old Korean male.
Serum thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) concentration was increased and was incompletely suppressed with triiodothyronine or thyroxine. This suggests a possibility of autonomous TSH secreting hyperplasia or adenoma of the pituitary gland. Pertinent literature of pituitary-enlargement associated with primary hypothyroidism was reviewed.
